Eagle Summit

Our PBIS Tier 1, 2 and 3 teams expressed the need to serve the larger student populations socio-emotional needs as it seemed to be a common factor in our teams discussions. This conference/event would allow us to serve students who may not already be utilizing the services available on campus. A sub-committee was formed and the planning began in November 2023. Our goal was to have members of our community participate and share their personal journey. Fifteen presenters including several EAHS alumni presented on topics such as Bullying Prevention, Mental Health, Substance Abuse, Educational Pathways and needs of the LGBTQ+ student population. The conference was open to all students and as an incentive, students were offered community service hours and attendance recovery, if they attended.

The purpose of the Eagle Summit is to empower our students to make good choices that lead them to a purposeful, rewarding, and successful future. The main theme of the conference is to provide tools that will strengthen this generation of students to lead and excel in our communities.
Our first ever student conference was held March 16th, 2024 with 185 students in attendance. The event was featured in the May 2024 Blue Zones Project - Monterey County newsletter, a segment on Telemundo that aired on March 19, and students from our Digital Media Arts class highlighted the Eagle Summit in a YouTube video.
The conference began with check-in and breakfast, followed by a keynote speaker and a series of 3 sessions (workshops/presentations) lasting forty-five minutes per hour. Students were offered 3 different topics they could choose from. There was a 20-minute break after the second session and refreshments were provided. For the last hour, students ate lunch while listening to our closing speaker.
